  1. I'll probably be off from June 22nd-July 1st since I'll be on vacation at home that time. It'll be a pleasure to escape the swamp for a bit and enjoy the sparse mountain air as I struggle to ascend staircases.
  2. 'A Etilla' by Ea. A little bit repetitive, but very good work music. If I get bored with this I might try out Thergothon since everyone's raving about them.
  3. Finished Season 1 of Attack On Titan. I like that it was kinda like a war film, differs from a lot of anime I've seen. It had a couple tropes here and there, and the plot twist seemed painfully obvious to me, but definitely very enjoyable. What I think I loved the most is that all of the victories are very hard-won and you always have a sense that these missions are deeply Pyrrhic, involving a massive loss of life. It seems to be going for a more intrigue-based angle...and frankly if an already-good anime wants to take influences from 24 I'm game.
  4. 'Noir' by Severnaja. Vladimir Lumi's voice is always a treat, but he really seems to sink his teeth into these lyrics...
  5. 'Cross the Line' by Dynazty.
  6. Just got my Soul Eater shirt; looks and feels great.
  7. 'Our Nuclear Dream' by Severnaja.
  8. 'Leviathan' by Iron Fire. Holy incendiary nads this song kicks all of the ass.
  9. 'Spillemandens Dase' by Svartsot.
  10. Maybe that what he did but I don't think it was his intent. In principle I don't disagree with the basic paradigm of a wider appeal, as long as the material is actually good. That still doesn't excuse calling Slipknot 'the masters of nihilism and all things doomy', though...
  11. 'Heal My Pain' by Spheric Universe Experience.
  12. For me there's a big difference between wanting to listen to something angry vs. actually being mad. In the latter case I usually don't listen to anything.
  13. 'Shaped by Darkness' by Ephel Duath. Fairly good musicianship. I'd recommend this to FA except that the 'harsh' vocals are laughable. They sound like Joe Duplantier at about 12 years old.
  14. 'Here At The End of the World' by Orden Ogan. Contract says at least one awesome song per album, 'Ravenhead' got this. It's cheesy, but it's a well-aged cheese with a palatable texture and frissons of spice here and there. Seriously, I love the way Orden Ogan's guitars and bass sound, really dense and powerful.
  15. You look a little like MrWeebl, and it helps that you're in the north of England too.
  16. It's OK, I'll make sure it's Cool Ranch so it doesn't show.
  17. Georgetown's got these cannons in front of Healy Hall, the campus' most iconic building. When I graduate I hope to take a picture of me standing on one once all the serious shots have been taken, so that I can have at least one absolutely and undeniably metal photo of myself.
  18. Did anything remind you of something in your life you're still deeply dissatisfied with? I've been feeling pretty good over the summer but I heard 'It Wasn't Me' by Shaggy over the stereo in the student center and suddenly felt massively lonely and apathetic. That was because that exact song played when my best friend was gone on spring break and I was just kinda paralyzed mentally because I missed him very sorely. I keep occupied with schoolwork, usually. I'm blessed with a brain that can do that for me even if I'm feeling lousy. Anyhow, sorry for putting the focus on myself but the point is that you might just be reminded by small things. It seems to me like you're pretty good at setting goals for yourself, so I might as a non-qualified individual suggest you could focus on those (because accomplishing them gives a sense of achievement so you don't feel apathetic) or on just doing something engrossing. Whatever works. Usually one of those does the trick for me and gets my mind off of things.
  19. 'Cold Harbour Lane' by Voices.
  20. 'Trinity' by Amaranthe. A pop-metal band that started with the goal of being that and have continued to be. They've improved from their debut, and although their third was a disappointment this song is still pretty enjoyable. This has a lot of stuff that people just straight-up won't like but I find myself enjoying them despite my prog weirdness.
  21. In response to jfk, he did actually do voiceovers for Rhapsody of Fire and actually released his own metal album. Charlemagne Productions - Christopher Lee | Metal Knight
  22. aT LEAST YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT INCORRECTLY CAPITALIZING dISEMBOWELMENT.
  23. This coming from easily the most wide-eyed and chipper person on the forum, but whatever...
