  1. It is certainly one of the best 'scare the hell out of your friends/enemies/family/coworkers' metal albums.
  2. I actually hate the plain Doritos...It's Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch for me.
  3. I finished up a French dip sandwich at a restaurant here which is apparently quite highly-rated. Maybe it's just my personal taste but I wasn't all that impressed. I think au jus is far too salty for my liking.
  4. The similarity and plodding monotony of some of the songs ('Clouded' really sticks out in this regard) did really irritate me. Repetition isn't necessarily bad but when it's allied to this really slow and kinda dull tempo I get bored quickly.
  5. 'The Unhealing I' by Talanas. Got bored with a fairly substantial chunk of both 'From Wisdom to Hate' and 'Obscura'...I guess I really do like 'Colored Sands' better.
  6. Well, I suppose that explains South Australia's crippling poverty, low HDI and lack of investment in the political system.
  7. 'The Art of Sombre Ecstasy' by Gorguts. So yes, I am enjoying this so far.
  8. Since I ended up mostly enjoying Colored Sands I should go back to this one since I remember disliking it for the same reasons. Maybe I'll get a Gorguts renaissance too, the Talanas full-length sounds way better to me now than I recall.
  9. Well, from the sounds of what Macabre is saying the Northern Irish have as well, which would suggest that they can jolly well have a pint and enjoy themselves instead of letting the resentment simmer in the kind of post-war bitterness that tends to lay the foundations for the next bout of fighting (WW2, Egypt in 2013, Zimbabwe in 1994 and 2000, Central African Republic in 2013-2014 with the Bangui violence of October 2014 being a particularly horrifying example) For that matter, South Africa was laden with horrors back in 2005 (still is) and I had a lovely time vacationing along the coast, even outside the safe haven of Cape Town.
  10. Is there any such thing as a tasteful mother-in-law joke?

I'm only proposing one direction of causality; what you've said is true but being a bear necessarily makes you fuzzy and predisposed to defacing arbors with effluence.
  12. Very possibly, dude. Gorbo does seem the sort of peer to sport a 'wicked awesome' red-and-black paisley to a metal to-do.
  13. 'Ananta - The Portrait' by Talanas. For some reason Waspkeeper didn't grab me the last time I tried it, I'm hoping it'll pull me in because I know Talanas kick ass. So far, so awesome.

Oh look, Yobo likes Heavy Rain. Also, apparently trees are popular lavatories among the ursine community.
  15. 'I AM' by Theocracy, the worship song to end all worship songs. There are other Christian bands I like better, but it will be hard for the ages to top this one song.
  16. As my dad says on occasion: 'Safety up, yo.'
  17. 'Avalanche' by Disillusion, from my recently-arrived copy of 'Gloria'.
  18. 'Past the Veil' by Borealis.
  19. Band shirts and camo shorts, cargo pants or jeans with whatever sneakers are available, for most of the year - I wear a koa-wood cross necklace and leather bracer on occasion. I've worn flip-flops for most of this summer for entirely pragmatic reasons, though.
  20. 'Planet of the Apes' by Devin Townsend Project.
  21. 'Non Being' by Esoteric. Well, this is heavy as all hell.
  22. Hm, now I have a craving... 'In Dreams' by Ghost Ship Octavius. This one's a lot like a Vanden Plas song on the chorus.
