  1. Honestly, I've just not taken the time to check them out. I'm revisiting Age of Silence and Communic, but I suppose I could check out Voivod while I'm on the subject...which album would you recommend?
  2. Cool! I was sad to see the end of the G8, maybe this will be a decent replacement.
  3. These are the ones I listen to: Pagan's Mind Aghora Manticora 7days Myrath Adagio Pyramaze Dominici Withem Disperse Halcyon Way Lost In Thought Epysode Diablo Swing Orchestra Andromeda Magnitude 9 Circle II Circle Vanishing Point Tomorrow's Eve Brainstorm Psychotic Waltz Vanden Plas Darkwater Dreamscape Star One Orden Ogan Silent Memorial Seventh Wonder Circus Maximus DGM Queensryche Spiral Architect Threshold Symphony X Nevermore Future's End Suspyre Redemption
  4. 'Excessit' by Spiral Architect. WHEEEE
  5. Such is the Mystery of Murph, the drive-by normative statement...
  6. That would probably be my favorite album from them.
  7. 'Thunder of War' by Slechtvalk. Still good stuff.
  8. Finished up the 'Solace' album by Lengsel, an enjoyable bit of progressive black metal. I'm glad I thought to give them a second chance. Now listening through the 'At The Dawn Of War' album by Slechtvalk, starting with 'Call To Arms'. Solid stuff so far.
  9. Well, I didn't expect it to be. Out of curiosity, have you heard Mirror of Retribution? It didn't seem out of place to me, though.
  10. 'Seven Lands of Sin' by Adagio. I don't. However, I can't ignore the fact that they're definitely trying hard to be interesting and seem genuine. It's certainly different material and from what I remember their song structures are deceptively simple. And to answer this burning question: I don't think the lead singer's voice 'oozes sex'...
  11. Neither am I. It's been a long-ass process by the forum and BAN in particular to unearth at least some black metal that I actually like. Luckily it has been fruitful, and Chthonic was one of the first bands that caught my fancy.
  12. 'An Anonymous Phone-Call and a Dead Line' by Lengsel. FA, I have more dissonance for you...
  13. I agree, the guy needs to edit his bloody videos.
  14. 'Opaque' by Lengsel. I'm glad I went back to check on this group, pretty underrated on the whole. Of course I've only heard about two songs from them...
  15. 'In Nomine' by Adagio. So, to provide a Deftones update, I listened through 'Diamond Eyes' and to be honest I completely agree with FA's assessment. 'Koi No Yokan' seemed a much better piece of work, since the heaviness was restrained for the sake of melody. Diamond Eyes did not give off the feeling of relative emotional refinement that 'Koi No Yokan' did, and for the most part it bored me immensely. 'You've Met The Butcher' was a good song though.
