Kilta - Ikuisuuden Pylväät, (Pillars of Eternity) Finland. Folky and melodic, and a little slow getting started, I almost bailed on it, but then it got good. That was earlier this afternoon, now I'm back for another round.
 
This is the wall of noise production you typically get on these things nowadays. And I'm OK with it, or I've become used to it at least. I guess because this type of black metal (raw, aggressive, younger no-name bands) is my bread and butter, I listen to a ton of shit just like this. If I disqualified everything with les than ideal production there wouldn't be much left. While certainly not filthy, this one doesn't stand out to me as particularly clean though, so I'm cool with it. 

Great album. I really dig the vocalist and the punchy riffing. If only the production was a bit less clean but take that as a me problem 🤪

The first one that always comes to mind is the last few lines of "Comfortably Numb". Even just reading the lyrics makes me choke up a bit. It's how I feel all the time. It's the lyrics that do it though, it's not the music by itself.
 
Swans - "Why Are We Alive", specifically the version on Various Failures, because for some stupid reason they left the best part of the song out of the album version. It starts around 3:51 but if you skip the rest of the song to get there (or if you're not me) it probably won't sound too special. And skipping to the "payoff" would make you a shitty person. Nobody wants that.

Saw Charon and I got all excited because I assumed you meant these guys. But it didn't take very long to figure out that must be a different Charon. So I looked it up, M-A lists 11 bands named Charon. Yours is apparently the Finnish heavy/gothic metal one that split up in 2011. Mine's the German blackened death one.

Звёздный Храм - Звёздный Храм, rbm Russia. I hate when I click on these cassette only releases. I love this album now, I'd seen it mentioned a couple of places as one of this years best bm albums, so I had to check it out. But I don't mess with cassettes and there's no digital or CD.
 
Darkthrone - It Beckons Us All.......  Norway. Can't believe it took me four months to check out the new Darkthrone. I suppose my enthusiasm for new material has waned since the last couple while not bad albums, they haven't been up to their previous high standards. This one's no different, it's alright, but I'm not excited about it. Second track is a bit better, but man that first track was a 6 and a half minute snoozer.
