  1. quoting myself is weird but i will saywhile others and im sure alot of others do like black album, load, death magnetic i just dont. its not because its different that puts me off its just ive never got in to those albums no matter how much i play them.
  2. your spot on re change and growth for bands such as mettalica.imo for new fans, getting into the black album, load, death magnetic are not bad places to start. also sometimes new albums take a while to appreciate. a few spins before you get it. finally whats hardwired album like by mettalica. any good
  3. £10 worth of premium chocolate. 96%cocoa buttons made by the chocolat chocolat shop, belgian dolfin milk chocolate with butter biscuit and andes salt(very fancy tad ott😁) and german marzipan bar in dark choc niebecker thinks the name. all taste amazing, and powerful flavours imo. i got to let my wife know gently about this lot over a number of weeks. oh look what they were selling at the petrol station. shes phd qualified so i might be in trouble😂
  4. im rubbish for watching movies at the moment. commutes of 250 miles per day at work dont help either. im reading the swamp thing by alan moore on my phone. its not movie but its kinda related imo to horror due to its themes and it looks amazing for 80s graphic novel, so thats good. and ghost rider the zodiak murders. again not horror but has got elements of horror. also a great series of graphic novels, i should make more of an effort to watch another film. i reckon i will watch the fly. on my phone. im right lazy😂 then sign up to shudder. thanks for tips and film recommendation. have you seen the 1950s fly film. im assuming as you mentioned cronenberg that youve seen the 80s film. the 50s film has Vincent price in it. also thanks for your review of amusement park film. i will likely see it soon on shudder
  5. clement select barrel rhum agricole from Martinique. so good. the marmite of rums. love it or hate it. well not technically a rum as thats molasses product as far as im aware. had anyone else had this drink. what did you think? i tasted it at rum tasting thing. would never have heard about it otherwise. is it more popular in france?
  6. from what i understand big 4 name came about as a result of clash of the titans tour, megadeth, slayer, anthrax all playing on same tour as headliners. it was a tour where they started to play to much bigger crowds like stadiums. the big 4 title im assuming came about after this tour, obviously mettalica we're not on this tour but they had to be included in the big 4. I've heard metal journalist malcom dome created the term the big 4. clear as mud right. slaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr😁 i hear you re this. i listen more to the british big 4 thrash band acid reign. there sort of like anthrax but more thrashy. latest album is good.
  7. im with you re the named albums being uninspired. there not bad albums for me just not the sort which make me excited to listen to them. possibly even if cliff had survived they would have gone down this path anyway or hed quit. mind you there really popular so its worked for them. saying all this id see them live if tickets we're not so expensive. just for the classics.
  8. its my favourite of mettalicas also. it has good exciting energy when i listen to it and technical mastery in there too. im no musician but it just sounds good. love the opening riff from ride the lighting. so simple but it works so well. bit rubbish that your lightning t shirt is getting passed it. you could put the old one in safe place or frame it. last thing you want is someone using the t shirt as a duster. definitely not cool😫 thanks re immortal pick. ive listened to this album but not got in to it. maybe an album that improves with plays. thanks for top track recommendation from it too.
  9. cool may check out some of those albums, NOW😂 thanks dead1
  10. with all respect testament are not in the "big 4" saying that i mostly prefer there music than anthrax. testament is more thrashy to me id say 1st slayer for reign in blood alone, one of my favourite albums, slow to hook me but when it did, that was that,🎣😁 ,2nd mettalica for those three early classic albums, thats 3 more than alot of bands😄 and megadeth equal 2nd nuff said, all those great tracks and amazing guitar playing, 4th anthrax. there among the living album i loved never was as keen on the others have you seen any of the "big 4 live"
  11. yowie pal. not messaged you in while. was listening to your cremated enemy album today. its a grower for sure. re cathedral whats your favourite album of theres? thank the lord you got a band ive heard of😂 testament. does it hold up to there classic oldies albums iyo im probably more in to mainstream than i realise 😁
  12. apparently there is a certain sexism in metal that doesn't help, thats according to selena cherry of svalvard. i read interview in magazine. shes very wise. tbh she might be somewhat right. main thing is download or big festivals could have lineup full of metal bands with females in them but they'd likely not sell enough tickets to make event viable. no easy answers imo
  13. mettalica guitar hero isnt that bad, has a few from kill em all, lightning and puppets albums. the rest are so so to me.
  14. sounds cool seeing mettalica for kill em tour. wow. was it good. imo without cliff mettalica will never do another album anywhere near those three albums, id like to be proved wrong, out of interest whats your favourite mettalica album? whats your favourite mettalica lineup. think kerry king was big fan of them with mustaine in. exodus have done some amazing stuff, should listen to them more tbh. immortal or abbath are bands id like to see live, pure holocaust is so good, imo immortal live in wacken is incredible too, think it was 2007, worth seeing if you haven't already, whats your favourite album of immortals
  15. it was Michael Atherton in 1994 against South africa, he had dirt in his pocket that he was rubbing the ball with, claimed it was to dry off his sweaty palms😂 my mistake. the 1990 new zealand Pakistan series where new Zealand admitted years later that they worked ball with bottle cap in Faisalabad test. there lucky they didn't get caught, back then would they done much. id like to hope theyd get healthy suspensions. chris pringle and martin crowe was involved in that.
  16. ok fair dos, we will disagree then. imo id be extremely surprised if smith, warner or Bancroft would try anything like that again. id like to say it will put others from trying similar thing in the future but it probably wont. was it hanse cronje who tampered the ball before this. i remember another bad case

    Books?

terry Pratchett's books does anybody read those, ive read a few of the discworld books, guards guards was a favourite of mine, so funny, if so whats your favourite
  18. good to know as reviews are not good innominate for shudder some are fake but they cant all be. thanks for feedback. will give it a go to watch amusement park, some say shudder is bit rubbish with loads of top horror movies not on there, but worth it for amusement park for me, also can you recommend any movies similar to romero and carpenter stuff that maybe on shudder, from what i read its worth watching amusement park even if its not a great romero film, reviewer said it was too repetitive but not without some merit. also have you seen any good horror films recently

    Books?

macabre eternal sir, that book sounds interesting, maybe a future book for me to read, well done for finishing it, the following might interest you assuming you have not read it. im half way through life and fate by vasily grossman, relative off lloyd who knows😁 its bit like war and peace with world war two setting, its writer was a jew who was on front line as journalist for there red star paper and very popular at time as he wrote very patriotic articles,he was reporteding at all big events of the war from41 onwards, in his notebook he was writing the less good stuff that could get him killed if it was published, years later he wrote this book and he doesn't hold back with his views re nazis and russians re the war which makes it such a interesting read, these views got him in trouble with russian authorities when he attempted to get it published, it was seized by the kgb but he had secret copies of the book which were eventually smuggled out of the country, i really should make an effort to finnish it as its very interesting read.
  20. id have eaten it. my cousin bless him had similar fish when out for a meal with my parents, he took a massive bite of the head, spat it out saying it was disgusting and stormed off for a kebab may have been a gyros😁true story honest
  21. yeah we got away with mints on ball in ashes2005 and monty pannesar did tampering with more mints, suncream and zip of trouser in ashes2009,2011. still its not as bad as sandpaper like you lot did, i thought suspension of players was bit harsh really, 6 months would have been ok for me, it was great though at the time imo, happy memories of Australia without 2 of there best batsman, repeat performance before the upcoming ashes would be fantastic, even then England would probably lose, if we cant beat new Zealand at home. were in trouble
  22. goatmaster general ive copied you re getting a massive rib eye steak, i got a 4cm thick steak of big size, cost me £ 11, butcher recommended cooking times which was spot on plus liberal amount of salt pepper and olive oil helped, medium rare i got, tons of flavour and not very chewy unlike thinner steaks id had are like leather almost imo😁you know what i mean, down side is my toddler daughters want it, there very keen. i locked the fridge. only joking. might be idea. also after cooking it all over i found raw bits especially around fat, are these safe to eat. i recooked these bits as im new to steaks
  23. balor you do more than me. i used to do alot the planks and that body weight stuff a few years when i was member of a local gym, works got so busy that ive stopped for now, weight training would be good i reckon, i generally like lifting heavy things at work, kind of satisfying when i lift something bit heavy.😁 its sounds crazy but true for me. changing music genres for workouts is great idea, if you like the new music why not, you can always listen to metal again at another time
  24. for me i go digital for music. saves on the space and ive not that much space. ive got loads of cds. most are in the attic for now but ive saved them to mp3 player. plus handy as i can link them via Bluetooth to my car or work vehicle when driving. otherwise i mostly listen with head phones as my family does not appreciate metal. i remember listening to stuff at the record store till i found stuff i liked. dont know if you did that. or did you just read reviews and decide that way
  25. yeah we probably do have similar tastes in music then, we only like the best👏👏 tbh my music tastes are so eclectic its good to hear others like similar music. i was considering changing my name to lone metal ranger 😁 out of interest whats genres of metal are your favourite tbh i listen to becker albums and i really like the music for 5 mins😁, all the athletic playing, friedman and becker, very impressive but collectively its not imo fantastic listen, then i put some thing else on,😂 obituary would be one band, hole in one you got there⛳ i agree with what your saying, whilst imo obituary is not quite as good technically there more fun to listen to. mind you there no slouches technique wise, becker is the best technical player imo anyway ive seen, even if the music is as far as im concerned not the best, its amazing hes still composing, imo its not metal from what ive heard so far but i like it, ive no idea how he does it now, he used to compose with chin movements and computer software, very inspiring,
