Drama drags bands down. If he doesn't want to be there, let him go. You have plenty of time to find someone else. And since you're starting off, you'll need to get used to people coming and going 1) as their tastes change, 2) as they grow up and start making other choices, 3) as they go through the various identity crises associated with adolescence, 4) as they move away for schools/college/jobs/families. Shit happens, it'll be ok, just stay dedicated to your own music.

Glenn Benton. Glenn Beck is a different kind of insane. I understand Cannibal Corpse being played out, but have you listened to their old shit? Not the McDonalds of death metal that they've been recently? Butchered at Birth and Tomb of the Mutilated were two of my favorite albums growing up, and even some of the Corpsegrinder material like Gallery of Suicide and Bloodthirst is still cool to hear. BTW caring about lyrics is a great quality, and one that I didn't possess until my late 20s, so you're ahead of the game there. I always had trouble understanding vocalists. Even the clean stuff.

Again, not my favorite Sabbath, but Dio had an excellent voice that suited the music well. And this one suited my mood at the time. 7.5/10 So here's another different sort of classic: fcE_oS5mybY

Glad to see you found Cattle Decap. There's a ton of good stuff out there. Since you're asking about death metal, I'd like to put a word in for some classics: Cannibal Corpse's "Tomb Of The Mutilated", Suffocation's "Pierced From Within", and Deicide's "Legion". You've probably already heard them, but maybe some younger people haven't, and today's death metal wouldn't be the same without these three albums.

You guys probably know Old Chub, a Scotch ale from Oskar Blues - the folks who brought you Dale's Pale Ale. I'm on my fourth of the evening. It gets better with every sip.

Where every album by your favorite bands, and every mix of every fucking song you write, sounds like it's being played through a wool blanket. Not because there's anything wrong with your ears; the problem is in your head somewhere. This ever happen to any of you? I knew it was a problem this morning when Repulsion started sounding weak and slow(!!!). I'm going on a bike ride to try and shake this shit off. Ugh.
