Quick question. Gideon. And Scientology. What the diffence between. The both
Gideons are just Evangelical Christians without delusions of grandeur last I checked. Scientology is an entirely different religion, invented by Electronic Arts executives.

Scientology is based on the work of science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard, and is made up of mostly rich, gullible morons. If you read the doctrines regarding what they believe, you would understand why, you would have to be brain dead to believe that shit that came from the same guy that wrote Battlefield: Earth. They invented air freshener and Armor-All. They're behind the manufacture and placement of sneezeguards and Wet Floor signs, the planting of highway medians, and the laws governing public access to fire exits. Their women wrap individual soaps and are responsible for folding triangles into the leading edges of the toilet paper rolls in most rich people's homes. They don't belong to one particular sect or denomination, and indeed are outwardly indistinguishable from normal humans; you've passed them on the street. They've been in your house, maybe even in your bed. There's a good chance they're on this forum. But we'll never really know. They're bound by a solemn oath to avoid any possibility of discovery. The only thing you can be sure of is this: if you meet a man claiming to be a Gideon, he's lying through his teeth.
They have more control than you might think. The Gideons have roots in the Illuminati, the Knights Templar, and Masonry. When the Freemasons became enslaved Masons, there came a schism in the ranks, and upon their eventual release, the Masons occupied the mainstream spot with their figurehead being the Duke of Kent, whilst the newly formed Gideons took a more subversive approach to world domination. Subliminal messages through hotel bibles, tampon commercials, Ikea furniture, and Vienna sausages. Notable members include Wanda Sykes, Prince, Cesar Milan, and of course, the Prophet Muhammad. Yeah. They make jovious. Witness look. Like. Girl Scouts
I feel bad for Jehovah's Witnesses. The passage in the bible about the 144,000 that will enter heaven as a limit, which by their estimation was reached over a hundred years ago. What this means is that they believe that heaven is full, so they can't get in no matter what they do, which is kind of depressing. Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2

I've also heard it's Jehovah's Witnesses doctrine that surgery is immoral. Still, both of these are one hell of a lot more coherent than 'Christan Science'. Oddly, the Christian Science Monitor is vastly more credible than their actual Scriptures - but I have to wonder why they report any news at all, since they believe everything in this world is an illusion willfully created by human minds, so none of it means anything.

Well' date=' to be honest I don't find it that odd. Sure, birthdays are fun to celebrate, but how many people actually remember the true meaning behind them nowadays?[/quote'] I actually know some people who don't celebrate their birthday. And they aren't Jehovahs.. Verstuurd vanaf mijn GT-I9505 met Tapatalk

Hey all, hope you weren't too worried about me, guess I should give you all the rundown. Ok officially been out of hospital 9 days. Still having dizzy spells (they will apparently take another two or three weeks to settle completely). In the end I needed two surgeries as the initial operation was unsuccessful (doctors didn't lift the cheekbone high enough). There is the prospect of a third surgery if it doesn't appear the bone is healing correctly but I'll worry about that in three weeks time. Total recovery time is four to six months and I'm on a soft "no chew" diet for at least another month yet. I've also had to withdraw from this semmester of uni (a great shame as my grades were phenomenal before the accident). The little sight I have has been affected by the operation and more specifically the swelling on the left side of my face. Basically my left eyesight is blurry as shit making reading far more difficult. Ironically my left eye is normally my good eye so it seems the universe has a sick sense of humour. So to summarise my life sucks right now except for one detail. My footy team is currently the best in the competition having lost just one game in their first eight.

We were worried! I'm glad you managed to write a post so that we know you are ok! I'm sorry to hear your surgery didn't go well and I hope you won't need another one... Don't worry about school, the important thing is that you get better.

    • Whichever tier of thrash metal you consigned Sacred Reich back in the 80's/90's they still had their moments.  "Ignorance" & "Surf Nicaragura" did a great job of establishing the band, whereas "The American Way" just got a little to comfortable and accessible (the title track grates nowadays) for my ears.  A couple more records better left forgotten about and then nothing for twenty three years.  2019 alone has now seen three releases from Phil Rind and co.  A live EP, a split EP with Iron Reagan and now a full length.

Notable addition to the ranks for the current throng of releases is former Machine Head sticksman, Dave McClean.  Love or hate Machine Head, McClean is a more than capable drummer and his presence here is felt from the off with the opening and title track kicking things off with some real gusto.  'Divide & Conquer' and 'Salvation' muddle along nicely, never quite reaching any quality that would make my balls tingle but comfortable enough.  The looming build to 'Manifest Reality' delivers a real punch when the song starts proper.  Frenzied riffs and drums with shots of lead work to hold the interest.

There's a problem already though (I know, I am such a fucking mood hoover).  I don't like Phil's vocals.  I never had if I am being honest.  The aggression to them seems a little forced even when they are at their best on tracks like 'Manifest Reality'.  When he tries to sing it just feels weak though ('Salvation') and tracks lose real punch.  Give him a riffy number such as 'Killing Machine' and he is fine with the Reich engine (probably a poor choice of phrase) up in sixth gear.  For every thrashy riff there's a fair share of rock edged, local bar act rhythm aplenty too.

Let's not poo-poo proceedings though, because overall I actually enjoy "Awakening".  It is stacked full of catchy riffs that are sticky on the old ears.  Whilst not as raw as perhaps the - brilliant - artwork suggests with its black and white, tattoo flash sheet style design it is enjoyable enough.  Yes, 'Death Valley' & 'Something to Believe' have no place here, saved only by Arnett and Radziwill's lead work but 'Revolution' is a fucking 80's thrash heyday throwback to the extent that if you turn the TV on during it you might catch a new episode of Cheers!

    • Full length number 19 from overkill certainly makes a splash in the energy stakes, I mean there's some modern thrash bands that are a good two decades younger than Overkill who can only hope to achieve the levels of spunk that New Jersey's finest produce here.  That in itself is an achievement, for a band of Overkill's stature and reputation to be able to still sound relevant four decades into their career is no mean feat.  Even in the albums weaker moments it never gets redundant and the energy levels remain high.  There's a real sense of a band in a state of some renewed vigour, helped in no small part by the addition of Jason Bittner on drums.  The former Flotsam & Jetsam skinsman is nothing short of superb throughout "The Wings of War" and seems to have squeezed a little extra out of the rest of his peers.

The album kicks of with a great build to opening track "Last Man Standing" and for the first 4 tracks of the album the Overkill crew stomp, bash and groove their way to a solid level of consistency.  The lead work is of particular note and Blitz sounds as sneery and scathing as ever.  The album is well produced and mixed too with all parts of the thrash machine audible as the five piece hammer away at your skull with the usual blend of chugging riffs and infectious anthems.

There are weak moments as mentioned but they are more a victim of how good the strong tracks are.  In it's own right "Distortion" is a solid enough - if not slightly varied a journey from the last offering - but it just doesn't stand up well against a "Bat Shit Crazy" or a "Head of a Pin".  As the album draws to a close you get the increasing impression that the last few tracks are rescued really by some great solos and stomping skin work which is a shame because trimming of a couple of tracks may have made this less obvious.
