I'm not sure if you're talking to me or Iceni but I'll answer anyway I speak Croatian, Italian and a little bit of Russian.

I only speak intermediate French, and I'm learning advanced French just now. I used to know a tiny handful of phrases in Finnish but that's it. Atrocity is definitely the polyglot.

We often do, yes. Same with "man". Can't speak for the Aussies, though. It may be that they just do everything backwards. Hanging on to the bottom of the planet can warp your mind.

I could guess that it's because of the beliefs that vaginas smell like fish so some smartass thought calling girls 'fish' is a good idea. Actually now that I translated that into English I realize how stupid that nickname is. Oh and for the love of God, how unwashed must a vagina be to smell like fish??

The followers of Sæx fled to the west, eventually settling in what is now called England, and of course they brought their odd speech habits with them, which is why eastern Europe is filled with Chauvinists who call women "fish", and England has been populated by Sæxists who call women "birds".

In my language is not so easy to form one word from two different words. So we simply call them fish.

It really just meant a woman who sold or worked with fish, though it was also used as an insult. (I didn't make that one up...)
