What the fuck Frost was thinking in believing this was a good idea is beyond me. They take away from the rest of the instruments and leave me really irritated. They seem to calm down after a few tracks and I get some decent BM fodder to pick at in their reprise but they remain the overarching memory of the record unfortunately. The Mayhem cover is good though. Until today I had never even heard any Black Flag or Bad Brains. It is such an influence on a few of my regular plays from metal though and it seems almost bonkers that I have listened to metal for 28 years and still never listened to more than two punk albums before now. 2018 discovery?
