Moody, gloomy and beautifully recorded. Plenty of somber moments without guitars or vocals; orchestral strings, piano etc. Atmospheric Black meets shoe gaze. Katatonian at times. I’m enjoying this. Clocks in at over an hour.

Both good - that Demigod album must be 25 years old (?). Finish Death classic . Very nice.

Mayhem ‘Grand Declaration of War’

Listening through now. Sounds ok to me but then again I’m not wedded to the original. Having said that, I’m not sure why this needed to be done. The drums are noticeably lacking bite and the sound a little flat compared with the original. I prefer the original but this isn’t horrific. It does seem a bit unnecessary.

 

 

 

Was surprised to find the album offerings on the plane on the way over quite appealing.  Had chance to listen through Guns n’ Roses ‘Appetite...’ and Van Halen ‘1984’.  Go transatlantic flights!

I remember flying from Melbourne to Singapore a while back and good old Singapore Airlines had Motorhead's Motorizer album  on the list. Must have known I was flying......

 

 

NP: LA Guns "The Devil You Know". Best since Cocked & Loaded? Perhaps (Waking the Dead might shade it). Phil & Tracii have pulled one out of their asses here. 

 

Tigertailz -  Love Bomb Baby

A friend of mine was their vocalist for a few years (2012 - 2015), releasing the Knives EP. He used to fly over to Europe for their festivals etc. In the end it got too hard so he left. Had a blast. He's a really nice guy too.
